How we first met:

We had known each other since school, life happens and we went our separate ways once we left, although we have a lot of mutual friends so would bump into each other occasionally.  Then Facebook happened (this is when social media and technology are good) and we friended each other on FB and spoke to one another over the next couple of years.  At the time I was working in New Zealand and had a short trip planned to visit the UK in November 2017. I arrived back and was running around all over the country catching up with friends and family and Darren was away in Corfu on holiday with his son so I thought that we would never get to meet up. I only had a few days left before I flew back to NZ when he contacted me and we arranged to meet up and I'm glad to say that we did as it turned out to be the best night of my life.  Everything changed on that night.

He picked me up from my parents house and drove into Northampton.  We went for a meal where we just talked and laughed, talked and laughed A LOT.  Then we went on to a club where we danced and had lots of fun.  I don't know exactly what happened in the club but our eyes met (I know it sound's cheesy but it really did happen) and that's when Cupid fired his arrow at both of us.  We then left the club and spent hours in McDonalds talking before I got a taxi back home.

The proposal:

It was like a scene from a movie. Darren was away for a couple of days after we had been out and I thought that I wouldn't see him again.  But to my utter happiness and amazement he had followed me to the airport (without my knowledge) and helped me out of the taxi and into the airport with my bags, (after my shock of seeing him there).  After I had dropped off my bags we went and had a coffee, then it was time for me to depart.  I really didn't want to go, I just wanted to be with him.  Then just as I was about to walk through security, he asked me to marry him and I said 'Yes', obviously.

When I knew he/she was the one:

We both knew that we were the one(s) at the Club.  In fact I was meeting up with a friend the following day and she remarked how happy and 'sparkly' I looked.  I was definitely happier than I had been in a long time.

The one thing we love most about each other:

We understand each other.

You may not know, but…:

He's very silly but then so am I

Why we chose our wedding ceremony and reception venues:

Originally we were going to get married at Kelmarsh Hall and had it all booked, but then decided that a smaller more intimate venue would be better as I don't have a large family and wanted to keep the wedding small and 'cosy'.

What led us to choose Mike Brown Photographic for our photography:

Some of the most memorable moments in the day:

Singing / skipping down the aisle at the end of the wedding

People papping their horns when we walked over the bridge to get photos done

The whole day was magical.

How we felt about how the photography went:

It was awesome.  Mike was great and we hardly knew he was there at all.  He took some great pictures

Our honeymoon:

We went on a minimoon to Portugal for 4 days and are planning our proper honeymoon for next year.

Our advice for couples starting to plan their wedding:

Make a list of everything so that you can keep track of things.  It's very easy to get distracted with lots of different ideas, but once you know what you want, stick to it.
