How long does it take to plan a wedding? Could you do it in six months? With four frail grandparents, Lisa and Paul were in a big hurry after the proposal to try and make it possible for as many of the grandparents as possible to be there. They arranged their wedding in just six weeks!!
They got married in August at St Andrews, Rushmere (near Ipswich) and then afterwards went to All Manor of Events, in the nearby village of Henley. Here is more about them in their own words...
We attended the same church.
Lisa: Paul made me feel special from the off. We had some tricky patches in our first year but overcame them together, and here we are!
Paul: It was very early days when I knew that Lis was the one I wanted to grow old with.
Paul: Lisa is the most loving and caring person i have ever met. She always puts everyone else before her.
Lisa: Paul is a real gentleman, through and through. He's so caring, and even after eleven years together he still opens doors for me.
Paul was hilarious at our wedding when he started singing all the words to Hot Stepper..."yeah man!"
Our first day out together was the beach at Frinton on sea. Paul took me there one gorgeous day in June this year...and got down on one knee on the beach. Paul had thoughtfully arranged for Mike to photograph the proposal from a distance! We were married six weeks later.
We chose to get married at St Andrew's because it's where Paul's mum and dad got married in the 70s. It was our way of remembering Paul's Dad on our special day (we also married on his birthday).
We chose All Manor of Events for our reception venue because we've enjoyed attending several lovely events there over the last few years. It has beautiful grounds and delicious food so we loved it.
Well aside from the fact that Mike is a truly talented photographer, I'm very proud to say that he is my Uncle...and I can't imagine anyone else looking after us or this very important aspect of our day.
Paul getting dressed in the car on the way to the church as he spent so long in the barbers!
Our little four year old niece telling her uncle Paul to do his hair before the speeches because he looked "a state".
My 90 year old Grandad being able to say Grace before our wedding breakfast.
Paul: My most memorable part of the day was seeing the most beautiful woman walk up the aisle, knowing I was going to marry her.
Mike did a wonderful job! He was so organised but very calm and friendly with it.
We felt very relaxed and not at all uncomfortable in front of the camera.
We spent a couple of nights near to where we got engaged but hope to have a honeymoon next year.
We did it in six weeks...no problem! Go with your first instinct...if you like it book it/buy it. We didn't have time to deliberate or keep changing our minds about things, and everyone I've spoken to says they think it worked out for the best.

We were so pleased with everything. We genuinely can't think of anything you could have done more.
