How we first met:
We met on match.com and had our first date at the Priory restaurant. My friend drove me over as I was so nervous and Paul was waiting at the door for me.
When I knew he was the one:
I knew straight away. He was kind, honest (sometimes painfully so), funny, and we had a lot in common. We could talk for hours and hours at a time. I lived in Kent at the time, and he would drive all the way to see me after 12-16 hour shifts.
The one thing we love most about each other:
We always make each other laugh. Just over little things. And that's the most important thing to us. We try to make each other happy every day.
Paul proposed to me 10 months after we met at the same place we had our first date. I had no idea, and it was perfect. He thought no-one had seen but then people in the car park started clapping!
Why we chose our wedding ceremony and reception venues:
I visited it on a spur of the moment decision when another wedding fair I'd been to had been a big disappointment. Just fell in love with it straight away, the grounds and the combination of old and new were perfect. I took Paul the following week and he loved it too.
What led us to choose Mike Brown Photographic for our photography:
We met Mike at a wedding fair and he was very chatty and talked us through some previous weddings he had done. Afterwards I emailed a couple of questions and he always replied really quickly so it set a good precedent for the service we received.
Some of the most memorable moments in the day:
The whole day was perfect but a couple of my favourite moments were when Paul did the sabrage with a bottle of champagne... and also Mike's slideshow of our photos when the evening guests arrived. There were a few tears all round.
How we felt about how the photography went:
We were really happy with the photography, nothing was too much trouble and we appreciated that we didn't have to do lots of forced posed photos as that really isn't our thing. Our day was captured perfectly, and our friends and family commented on how great the photos were.
We had our honeymoon 3 months before the wedding as we found out we were expecting our baby girl and I was nearly 7 months pregnant when the wedding came around. We went on a cruise around the Canaries and it was really lovely.
Our advice for couples starting to plan their wedding:
Our advice would certainly be not to stress about the little details. Make sure you have booked the main things nice and early..venue, photographer, flowers, cake etc and then just enjoy picking out the small things and seeing your day come together.
